Why does a person need to be"saved?"
1. Because man is sinner Rom.5:12 Wherefore,
as by one man
sin entered into the world, and death
by
sin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned:
We are born with a sin nature.
That one man was Adam and in his rebellion and disobedience to God he
plunged the world into sin. Gen.3
Rom.3:10-13, 23 10 As
it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There
is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They
are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable;
there is none that doeth good, no, not one
. 23 For all
have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God;
No one is
able to approach a Holy God.
2. Because the consequences of our sin is
physical and spiritual death forever.
Rev.20:11 And
I saw a great white
throne, and him that sat on it, from
whose face the earth and the
heaven fled away; and there was found
no place for them.
12 And
I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the
dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books,
according to their works.
13 And
the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and
hell delivered up the dead which were
in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And
death and
hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
15 And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the
lake of fire.
The unbeliever will be cast into the lake of
fire forever with no hope.
My friend you owe a wage that you cannot pay except you die
physically and eternally in the lake of fire.
How can a person be " saved?"
There is only one place to find the answer God's Word.
You Must Repent Luke 13:
2 And
Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose
ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because
they suffered such things?
3 I
tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or
those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think
ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in
Jerusalem?
5 I
tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Repentance = a sorrow for things done or said, a regret
for past conduct, true penetince, deep contrtion for sin
My friend you must see yourself as God sees you, lost and undone,
a hopless sinner under the condemnation of the Lord.
John 3:18 He
that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
19 And
this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved
darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil.
You must receive by Faith the Lord Jesus Christ as your
Savior
John3:15 That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
17 For
God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through him might be saved.
Ephesians2:8 For
by
grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the
gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any
man should boast.
My friend Grace is God's unmerited love and kindness to you. He
doesn't have to love you but He does. You cannot earn that which is
freely given. No amount of good works ie; baptism, money, church
attendence, or sincerity in a false unbiblical hope will get you to
heaven. Only receiving Christ as the payment for your sin will suffice.
John 1:12 But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which
were born, not of
blood, nor of the will of the
flesh, nor of the will of man, but of
God.
Rom.10:9 That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For
with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto
salvation.
My friend do you see what you must do is trust Jesus Christ as
your Savior. He is the only Way.
John 14:6 Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.
Would you humble yourself right now and receive
Jesus Christ as your Savior? He has already done His part by dying on
the cross in your place, now you must trust Him to take you to heaven
when you die. Maybe you could just pray something like this: note =
remember it is the heart that God sees and knows =
Dear Jesus I am sorry for my sin and
do not want to go to hell. Please save me and take me to heaven when I
die. Right now I receive you as my personal Savior. Thank you for giving
me everlasting life. Amen
